Terms of Service

Welcome to MatchYard. These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and MatchYard ("MatchYard," "we," "us," or "our") and govern your use of our website, waitlist, and services (together, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use MatchYard. By using the Services, you confirm that you are 18 or older and able to enter into this agreement.

2. Early access

MatchYard is in early access. The Services are provided on an evolving basis: features may change, launch region by region, or be added and removed as we build. We may modify or discontinue parts of the Services at any time.

3. Your account

When accounts become available, you agree to provide accurate information, keep your login secure, and be responsible for activity on your account. Let us know promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.

4. Community conduct

MatchYard is activity-first, not a dating service, and everyone deserves to feel safe and respected. When using the Services, you agree to:

• Treat other members with respect — no harassment, hate speech, threats, or discrimination.
• Be honest about your identity, skill level, and intentions.
• Use MatchYard to find people to play and train with — not to solicit, spam, or promote unrelated services.
• Show up when you commit to a game, and communicate if plans change.

We may warn, suspend, or remove members who break these standards.

5. Meeting other members & safety

MatchYard helps you connect, but you are responsible for your own safety when meeting people. We do not conduct background checks on members, and verification badges are a helpful signal, not a guarantee. We strongly recommend meeting in public places such as courts, parks, and gyms, telling someone where you'll be, and trusting your judgment. If something feels wrong, use the in-app report and block tools or contact safety@matchyard.us.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you share (such as your profile details and messages). You grant us a limited license to host, display, and use that content as needed to operate the Services. Don't post content you don't have the right to share, or that is unlawful, harmful, or infringing.

7. Prohibited uses

You agree not to misuse the Services — including attempting to disrupt or reverse-engineer them, scraping data, impersonating others, or using MatchYard for any unlawful purpose.

8. Intellectual property

The MatchYard name, logo, design, and software are owned by us and protected by law. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our branding without permission.

9. Disclaimers

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that you will find a match, that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any member is who they claim to be.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MatchYard is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for interactions between members, arising from your use of the Services.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Services at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the community. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as MatchYard grows. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which MatchYard is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
