This Privacy Policy describes how MatchYard ("MatchYard," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you join our early-access waitlist, visit our website, or use our services (together, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here.

• Contact details — such as your email address when you join the waitlist, and your name if you provide it.
• Profile and activity details — the sports and activities you play, your skill level, general area, and availability, if you choose to share them.
• Communications — messages you send us, and (once the app is live) messages you exchange with other members.

Information we collect automatically

• Usage data — pages viewed, links clicked, and general interaction with the Services.
• Device data — browser type, device type, and similar technical information.
• Approximate location — used to match you with players and games nearby. We use approximate areas, not your precise location, unless you explicitly grant it.

2. How we use your information

• To operate the waitlist and let you know when MatchYard opens in your area.
• To provide the core service: matching you with players, games, and clubs by sport, skill, and availability.
• To keep the community safe, verify accounts, and prevent misuse.
• To improve the Services and understand how people use them.
• To respond to your questions and send service-related updates.

3. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these limited cases:

• With other members — the profile details you choose to make visible (for example, your first name, sport, and general area) are shown to people you match with. Your exact location and contact details are never shared automatically.
• With service providers — trusted companies that host our infrastructure, send our emails, or help us run the Services, under obligations to protect your data.
• For safety and legal reasons — when necessary to comply with the law, enforce our terms, or protect the rights and safety of our members and the public.
• In a business transfer — if MatchYard is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you.

4. Your choices and rights

• Access and correction — you can request a copy of your information or ask us to correct it.
• Deletion — you can ask us to delete your account and personal information, subject to limited legal exceptions.
• Marketing opt-out — every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out of non-essential messages at any time.
• Location — you control location permissions through your device settings.

5. Data retention

7. Children

MatchYard is intended for adults. The Services are not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.

We may update this policy as MatchYard grows. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
